Niamh’s Story

After leaving London for a better life many moons ago, I found myself in the beautiful setting of rural West Cork, Ireland.

I have a background in floral design and find inspiration all around. Apart from creating costume Jewellery I love to knit and crochet, I think it’s important to share these traditional skills with others to keep the crafts alive and there are so many more options now then there used to be.

I have been involved in a few community projects supporting local made crafts including the “Sheep’s Head Producers Market” & “Sheep’s Head Yarns”. What started out as a small Sunday market grew to be a much loved shop, helping many new businesses get started as well as helping the local economy with a fabulous selection of handmade crafts & artisan food in the pretty village of Kilcrohane. Sadly due to Covid 19 this shop closed its doors in early 2020.

In 2019, I created a small craft market in the village of Durrus using the skills I discovered during involvement with the SHPM, this event ran each summer until 2022.
